Frequently Asked Questions About Group Sponsorship

Group Sponsors operate with clear boundaries and expectations. We provide comprehensive materials to help you understand your role and limitations. Rest assured that as a volunteer, you'll receive support throughout your service.
You'll receive comprehensive guidelines and ongoing assistance throughout your journey. Our structured support system ensures you're never alone in this important work and always have resources to turn to when needed.
As a Group Sponsor, you'll have access to materials, training, and a supportive community of fellow volunteers. These resources are designed to help you succeed in creating a safe, healing environment for teens.
The time commitment varies based on the frequency of meetings you choose to sponsor. Most Group Sponsors dedicate 2-4 hours weekly, including preparation time and the actual meetings.
The teens seldom talk about the acting out issues of the addiction. They soon realize S-Ateen is for them and about them, not the sexaholic or other family members. They are excited to learn that the principles of the S-Ateen program can help with peer and other relationships. To ensure the safety of all, S-Ateen Group Sponsors are responsible for reporting to the proper authorities any shares regarding unresolved sexual abuse or neglect of a minor that have not been previously addressed.
