This booklet contains helpful information for the newcomer, including an explanation of S-Anon, a glossary of commonly used words and tools of the program, and the S-Anon Meeting Readings. It also includes a list of questions to assist readers in determining whether they might benefit from S-Anon, such as:

-Have you felt hurt or embarrassed by someone’s sexual conduct?

-Have you tried to control somebody’s sexual thoughts or behavior by doing things like throwing away pornography, dressing suggestively, or being sexual with them in order to keep them from being sexual with others?

-Have you felt angry and/or stupid for not knowing about someone’s sexual acting out behavior?

-Have you felt confused about what is true when talking with someone about his or her sexual thoughts or behavior?

In addition, this booklet answers questions about how S-Anon meetings and groups work. S-Anon is a fellowship of people who truly understand because they have first-hand experience of the effects of living with sex addiction. For some of us, meetings were not comfortable at first. We felt embarrassed, ashamed, confused, and angry, but we were reminded that we were not alone in our situation of having a sexaholic relative or friend, and that our situation was not hopeless.
