Dear S-Anon Members,
When I first came to S-Anon, I couldn’t have imagined the depth of change this program would bring to my life. What began as a search for relief became a journey of healing and connection. I’ve learned that recovery happens not only through working the Steps, but also through carrying the message, serving others, and having the courage to keep showing up.
Over time, the language of recovery has become second nature to me — phrases like Higher Power, serenity, and Seventh Tradition roll off my tongue without much thought anymore. But I’ve noticed that some other terms, like “Special Appeal,” aren’t always as familiar, especially since they occur only a few times a year.
A Special Appeal is a tri-annual request for financial contributions to the S-Anon World Service Office (WSO), beyond regular group and individual contributions. These funds help support the ongoing work of the WSO and allow the S-Anon organization to grow in new and needed ways.
This year, that growth has included launching a new giving platform designed to better serve members and groups. It offers secure, flexible ways to contribute, including debit and credit cards, ACH, PayPal, Venmo, and Apple Pay. Members can set up recurring contributions, create an account to track their history, update information, give on behalf of a group, and download year-end statements with ease.
Behind the scenes, this platform also gives the WSO tools to plan more effectively, identify trends in giving, and respond to the fellowship’s needs with greater clarity. It’s a meaningful step forward in how we steward the resources that keep S-Anon available to those seeking hope.
