The benefits of working the S-Anon program become evident in the way we treat other people. We can cooperate and connect with others without losing part of ourselves. We avoid being overly supportive emotionally, physically, financially, and spiritually. After examining our motives, we may find that we do not need to advise or control others or get our own way in order to prove our self-worth. We mind our own business and not anyone else’s. Rather than imposing our own agendas or prescriptions for “right” living on others, we respect their freedom to discover directions and solutions for themselves. We live and let live.
