Dear Fellow S-Anon Members,
It is with a full and grateful heart that I write to you today. It has been years since I first stumbled—almost literally—through the doors of S-Anon. Like many of us, I was struggling to manage the effects of sexaholism and failing miserably. I was truly at my rock bottom when I found this program, overwhelmed and in utter chaos. I wasn’t even sure if I could ever piece myself back together, let alone find any kind of peace.
What I discovered within these rooms was nothing short of life-changing. Through the experience, strength, and hope shared by others, I saw that I wasn’t alone. Slowly, the principles of the program became my lifeline, guiding me to a sense of serenity I never thought possible.
Part of my journey has been embracing service as a vital piece of my recovery – “to carry this message to others.” Over the years, I’ve been privileged to serve as the New York Area Delegate, a member of the Board of Trustees Public Information and Outreach Committee, and now as the Secretary of the Board of Trustees. This work feels particularly meaningful as we strive to ensure that S-Anon is easily found by those who need it most. I never want anyone to feel as alone and helpless as I once did, and service has been a way for me to give back to the program that gave me so much.
Even now, I know my journey isn’t done. Recovery isn’t a destination; it’s a lifelong process. This program is one of ongoing growth, self-discovery, and healing. Each day brings new opportunities to learn, to recover, and to connect with others who share this path. It’s a gift I am humbled to receive, and one I am eager to share!
The Seventh Tradition reminds us that it is through our collective contributions that we sustain this life-saving program. Our meetings, literature, and outreach efforts depend on the support of members like you and me. Every contribution, no matter the size, plays a vital role in ensuring that the message of S-Anon is available to all who need it.
