Recently, the World Service Office received our newly reprinted copies of Working the S-Anon Program. In addition to the basic copyediting and corrections made each time a piece is reprinted, this reprint features a change to a solid color cover and some important updates: the addition of the S-Anon Twelve Concepts of Service to the S-Anon Meeting Materials in Part Four and a revised and expanded index.
The Literature Committee Chairperson periodically receives emails from members noticing inconsistencies in the content of their copies of Working the S-Anon Program. These differences often arise because the First Edition, while no longer in production, is still in use by some members alongside the Second Edition which became Conference Approved Literature (CAL) in 2009. The Second Edition includes updates such as the revised S-Anon checklist questions which were updated in 2008, additional member shares, and text more clearly focused on personal recovery. Using the same edition of Working the S-Anon Program can offer consistency and clarity and help promote unity when referencing this valuable piece of CAL.
Also, the book’s classic green cover has been updated from a gradient to a solid color. The decision to shift to a solid color cover was made after encountering gradient printing inconsistencies when we reprinted Working the S-Anon Program in 2021. This marks the completion of the shift to solid color covers for Working the S-Anon Program and S-Anon Twelve Steps. Once we begin shipping the reprinted version of Working the S-Anon Program, the gradient cover design will become a unique part of S-Anon history.
