S-Anon International Family Groups, Inc. is seeking a part-time Literature and Intellectual Property Coordinator to oversee and document management of our literature, trademarks, and copyrights, providing essential support to our mission. This individual will work closely with the World Service Office Executive Director and legal counsel during training and onboarding, ensuring they gain the knowledge and resources needed to excel in the role.
Position Details
Status: Remote, Part-time
Hours: Avg 6 hours per week (312 hours annually)
Primary Responsibilities
- Literature Copyright and Intellectual Property Management (~35%)
-Manage all aspects of copyright registration and maintenance for S-Anon publications.
-Review requests to reprint S-Anon literature excerpts; draft and enforce the ensuing permission agreements.
-Maintain accurate records for copyrights, trademarks, agreements, translations, and publications.
-Collaborate with legal counsel and leadership to create a Content and Intellectual Property Use Policy for S-Anon Board of Trustees (BOT) approval.
- Literature Translation and Reprint Agreements with International Service Structures (~35%)
-Coordinate literature translation and reprint requests, drafting agreements and ensuring compliance.
-Develop policies in cooperation with the Global Coordination Committee to streamline the translation licensing process.
-Register copyrights for finalized international translations and maintain organized records.
-Provide guidance to international service structures on agreement terms and negotiate terms when necessary.
-Monitor reported international service structure literature sales and collect and record associated royalties.
- Literature Printing and Inventory Management (~15%)
-Monitor literature inventory levels and coordinate reprints with committees and vendors.
-Oversee pre-printing process, including quotes, timelines, and paper specifications.
-Assign and manage ISBNs and barcodes for new publications.
-Obtain Library of Congress Control Numbers and submit new literature as required.
- Trademark Management (~5%)
-Manage trademark registrations, renewals, and compliance with regulations.
-Document logo usage permissions and coordinate design requests with international structures.
- Literature Committee Support and WSO Liaison (~5%)
-Provide project management and administrative support to the Literature Committee.
-Collaborate closely with the LC and WSO to ensure cohesive operations.
- Global Coordination Committee (GCC) Collaboration (~5%)
-Work closely with the GCC to strengthen relationships with international service structures.
-Foster open communication and share educational resources to ensure worldwide literature distribution.
Key Qualifications
-Strong organizational and project management skills.
-Experience in intellectual property management or a related field.
-Proficiency in creating and maintaining documentation and detailed records.
-Ability to collaborate with legal professionals and organizational leadership.
-Familiarity with literature production and inventory management processes is a plus.
-In all matters pertaining to this role, consider adherence to the S-Anon Twelve Traditions and Concepts of Service, consulting with additional BOT members as appropriate.
