Is your local group looking for a way to increase membership and create a greater awareness of S-Anon in your community? Information for Professionals (L-10) has recently been updated for use. This Service Literature briefly describes the S-Anon and S-Ateen programs, who benefits from the programs, and how people can find meetings.
A simple outreach campaign to help grow membership could be to ask members of your group to give Information for Professionals to one person they know in the helping profession: a therapist, doctor, lawyer, or spiritual leader to increase awareness.
Another way to use Information for Professionals is to include it in packets to mail to a list of local helping professionals, along with an S-Anon Business Card (which has room on the back to include contact information for local meetings), the S-Anon Checklist Questions, and one of the customizable Outreach to Professionals Letters. Visit the Outreach to Professionals page for more information about creating an outreach packet. For more ideas and resources to help your meeting grow and to carry the message locally, please see the S-Anon: Guide to Public Information and Outreach, available for sale in the online S-Anon literature store!
Looking to further grow in service work? The Public Information and Outreach Committee is looking for volunteers! We meet the fourth Wednesday of the month from 8:30-9:30pm ET. Our current projects include growing S-Anon’s social media presence and creating materials to increase awareness of S-Anon in the helping professional community. Desired skills include any of the following: social media coordination and content creation, marketing, public relations, or experience driving website traffic.
