There is a swirl of activity going on at the World Service Office (WSO) this season! Here is a ten-thousand-foot view of current projects and priorities.
-2023 International Convention: The WSO is providing planning support to the International Convention Committee for the “Together in Hope, Joy, and Gratitude” S-Anon/S-Ateen International Convention in Nashville, TN, June 23-25, 2023. Save the date! Registration will open January 1, 2023.
-Revamping the Find a Meeting Page: The “Find a Meeting” page on www.sanon.org will soon have a new look and expanded functions! Over the last year, groups and newcomers have highlighted ways in which the WSO can better serve those looking for meeting information. We hope this update will meet the needs of many.
-2023 Budget: From August to November, the WSO, Finance Committee, and Board of Trustees work together to create, evaluate, recommend, and approve the budget for the upcoming year. The BOT is responsible for stewardship of the S-Anon fellowship’s financial resources. Part of this stewardship is to approve the budget after thoughtful consideration, including Higher Power in the process.
-Training New Hire: The WSO’s long-time Office Assistant has relocated and we have hired a new team member to fill this vacant position. Staff turnover can be a challenge but our new hire is up for the task! Members and groups will now have a new voice and face representing our office when they call or work with the WSO. We appreciate everyone’s patience as the new Office Assistant continues to learn the ropes. Fortunately for the WSO, the former Office Assistant is staying on as a remote bookkeeper so we will still have opportunities to tap into her the wealth of knowledge gained over her 11 years of experience working at the WSO.
-Group Database: Over the last twelve years, the WSO has used a group database that does not easily adapt to meet the ever-changing group documentation needs. As such, the WSO has transitioned to a new Group Database system that is less complex and more user friendly. The WSO will implement the use of a new online Group Registration Form that coincides with the information contained in the new Group Database, which will save time on data entry.
