Every Spring, the WSO reaches out to groups with a request to submit an updated Group Registration Form. This annual verification process helps the WSO maintain accurate records and ensures newcomers are receiving correct information. Earlier this month, the WSO reached out to all group contacts but because many members serving in these positions have rolled off, we need everyone’s help in facilitating this update process.
Could you share this updated request with the groups you attend and ask the group to identify a member who will submit an updated Group Registration Form? If you know your group contact on file with the WSO, reaching out to them to see if they received the original request would be extremely helpful.
There has recently been an increase in newcomers following up with the WSO to let staff know that some group information published on the website is no longer correct. Many groups have decided to return to in-person meetings, permanently closed, provide a hybrid solution, or are still gathering temporarily as a phone or online meeting. Whatever the circumstance may be, the WSO would like to know.
Here is the information needed to update the Group Registration Form:
- Meeting Day and Time, Location or Access Information
- Permission to Distribute Meeting Information
- Inquirer Contact
- WSO Contact
Please Note: Making sure Newcomers have correct information is a high priority at the WSO. As such, any groups who have not updated with the WSO in over 2 years will be removed from the Group Database and website. We understand that the world has essentially been in some form of transition over the last couple of years so we are cognizant of the current reality. As we move toward some form of normalcy though, the WSO will need to begin reinstating this removal policy.
