Dear Fellow S-Anons,
When I attended my first S-Anon meeting ten years ago, I remember entering the room feeling fear, anxiety, pain, and confusion about the recent discovery of sexaholism in my life. I was met with smiles, and given the Newcomer Booklet. At the meeting, we read member stories out of the “Blue Book” (S-Anon Twelve Steps.) The shares seemed to mirror my feelings and I left that meeting with the hope that S-Anon could help me.
Literature published by S-Anon has one purpose: to help family and friends of sexaholics recover from the effects of another person’s sexual behavior. Conference Approved Literature (CAL) is written by S-Anon members and reviewed by many prior to publication. It aims to present solid, solution-oriented recovery ideas. Our literature explains how S-Anon members have used the program to help themselves. Reading CAL helps keep our thoughts on track, while introducing us to new insights and ideas that we can apply to our own lives.
CAL has played such a large part in my personal recovery process that I was moved to join the Literature Committee. This service has shown me that without the support of S-Anon members, our fellowship—and CAL—would cease to exist. Members write, review and approve CAL. Member contributions pay for the production of CAL and pay the salaries of the WSO staff who process CAL orders. Members purchase CAL for themselves and their groups. Please consider a donation to the WSO to help keep CAL available to those who need it.
In peace and service,
Angela M.
