Service Opportunities

Service work is a wonderful way to help carry the S-Anon message to others.  The following service opportunities are currently available at the national level; if you are able to volunteer in any of these capacities, please contact the S-Anon World Service Office at sanon@sanon.org for more information.

  • Open Area Delegate Positions: Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Western Canada, Central Canada, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Washington, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Western Canada, and Wyoming.
  • World Service Conference Committee (WSCC) Chair:  The trusted servant in this position is charged with making sure that the fellowship is informed about the annual World Service Conference (WSC) and that each Area is invited to register a Delegate and participate by submitting motions to the Conference if that is what their Area chooses to do. The Chair works with the WSC Committee to plan the logistical arrangements for the WSC, summarizes and distributes the minutes from the WSC, and sends updates and information about the upcoming WSC to the delegates.  As an at-large Trustee, the WSCC chairperson must have been working the S-Anon program for five years.
  • S-Ateen Committee Chair:  The S-Ateen Committee provides information, guidance, and support to anyone seeking an S-Ateen group through the World Service Office.
  • Treasurer/Finance Committee Chair:  The Treasurer of the Board of Trustees is required to have some professional background in accounting.  For more information on the duties and activities of the Treasurer, please see the S-Anon/S-Ateen Service Manual.
  • Public Information and Outreach Committee Chair:  The Public Information and Outreach Committee serves as a resource for helping professionals, as well as the families and friends of sexaholics.  The Committee's goal is to increase the awareness of the S-Anon program using S-Anon Conferenced-approved literature, posters, and the S-Anon Web Site.
  • S-Anews Managing Editor:  The S-Anews Managing Editor gathers writing contributions from the fellowship for The S-Anews newsletter, oversees the editing and layout of the articles, and works with the print vendor.  This position also serves on the Literature Committee as an at-large member.
  • Northeastern Regional Trustee (serves ME, NH, VT, DE, NY, MA, RI, CT, NJ, PA, VA, WV, MD, DC, E. Canada):  Regional representation to the Board of Trustees consists of one Trustee from each region.  For more information on the duties of the Trustees, please see the S-Anon/S-Ateen Service Manual.
  • Midwestern Regional Trustee (serves IL, IN, IA, MI, MN, MO, NE, ND, OH, SD, WI):  Regional representation to the Board of Trustees consists of one Trustee from each region.  For more information on the duties of the Trustees, please see the S-Anon/S-Ateen Service Manual.
  • Volunteer Graphic Designer:  Graphic designer needed to design and layout S-Anon Literature as needed.  The designer should be able to work comfortably with professional-level software such as InDesign, QuarkXpress and Adobe Illustrator. Existing publications also may need updating as new editions are published. The original artwork for the existing S-Anon Literature is in QuarkXpress.  This position will involve some direct contact with the print vendor to finalize specs for estimates, transferring files and reviewing proofs.
  • Long Distance Sponsor/Telephone Support:  If you have experience, strength, and hope to offers others as a result of working the S-Anon program, consider serving as telephone support for people who need someone to talk to, or serving as a long distance sponsor.
